Erythromycin Ethylsuccinate is an antibiotic useful for the treatment of a number of bacterial infections, has an antimicrobial spectrum similar to or slightly wider than that of penicillin. Erythromycin Ethylsuccinate has antiviral activity against HIV-1. In Vivo:Low-dose Erythromycin Ethylsuccinate (0.125-1.25 mg/kg, p.o., once daily for 3-5 days) induces acute colitis in Swedish Warmblood horses[1]. Erythromycin Ethylsuccinate (100 mg/kg, p.o., once daily for 21 days) significantly improved splicing defects in the DM1 mouse model[4].
