Picrotoxin (Cocculin) is a natural noncompetitive antagonist of GABAA receptor, binds to the interface pocket on the GABAR[1][2]. Picrotoxin (Cocculin) causes overstimulation and induces convulsions[2]. In Vivo: Picrotoxin (1.0 mg/kg, i.p. once a day for 5 days) acts as a GABAA receptor antagonist, and increased the number of ligodendrocyte progenitor cells (OPCs) pairs in NG2-CreERTM:EYFP mice[1].
