Methyl myristate is a saturated fatty acid methyl ester obtained from the esterification of myristic acid. Methyl myristate shows a high melanin induction in B16F10 melanoma[1]. In Vitro:Methyl myristate is the component of the petroleum ether extract. Petroleum ether extract reduces Acetylcholine (HY-B0282) and ergot alkaloids-induced uterine contractions in rats isolated uterus, exhibiting uterine relaxation activity[2].
