Triphen diol is a phenol diol derivative, which has excellent anticancer activity against pancreatic cancer and cholangiocarcinoma, and can induce pancreatic cell apoptosis through two mechanisms, caspase-mediated and caspase-independent[1].
In Vitro: Triphen diol (0-10 μM, 48-120 h) can inhibit the proliferation of pancreatic cells and induce apoptosis, with an IC50 value of 8 μM for HPAC and PANC-1 cells and an IC50 value of 0.8 for MIAPaCa-2 cells μM[1].
In Vivo: Triphen diol (50 mg/kg, oral gavage, daily, 15 days) can significantly inhibit tumor proliferation in male Balb/c nude mice transplanted with MIAPaCa2 cell line, and can be combined with gemcitabine to show better efficacy[1].
