N-Acetyldesloratadine (SCH-37370) is a potent, orally active dual antagonist of platelet-activating factor (PAF) and histamine. N-Acetyldesloratadine inhibits PAF-induced aggregation of human platelets, with an IC50 of 0.6 µM. N-Acetyldesloratadine can be used for the study of allergic diseases, such as asthma[1]. In Vivo:N-Acetyldesloratadine (SCH-37370; p.o.) inhibits PAF- and histamine-induced bronchospasm in guinea pigs with ED50 values of 6.0 mg/kg and 2.4 mg/kg, respectively[1].
