Forsythoside I is an orally active caffeoyl phenylethanoid glycoside (CPG) that can be isolated from Forsythia suspense (Thunb.) Vahl. Forsythoside I has anti-inflammatory activity and can exert a protective effect in a mouse model of acute lung injury[1][2]. In Vitro:Forsythoside I (50-200 μg/mL; 24 hours) can inhibit the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines and the activation of the TXNIP/NLRP3 inflammasome pathway in LPS (HY-D1056)-treated RAW264.7 cells[1]. In Vivo:Forsythoside I (12.5-50 mg/kg; oral gavage; 2 days) has anti-inflammatory and protective effects in a mouse model of acute lung injury[1].
