MDL 72832 (hydrochloride) is a 2,3-dihydro-1,4-benzodioxane derivative and a 5-HT1a receptor ligand with high affinity for the 5-HT1a receptor. In Vitro:MDL 72832 (hydrochloride) displays high affinity for 5-HT1A receptors (pKi = 9.1) and lower affinity for other tested serotonin, adrenergic, and dopaminergic receptor subtypes[1]. In Vivo:MDL 72832 (hydrochloride) (0.1 mg/kg; s.c.; single dose) induces lower lip retraction in male rats with an ED50 of 0.1 mg/kg via subcutaneous administration[1].
