Tebufenozide is a nonsteroidal ecdysone agonist used to control pest. Tebufenozide has cytotoxic and induces apoptosis in HeLa and insect Tn5B1-4 cells[1][2].
In Vitro:Tebufenozide (0-200 μg/mL, 24 h) exhibits cytotoxicity in human cervical cancer cell HeLa, arrests the cell cycle at G1/S phase, and induces apoptosis through p53-dependent cell cycle regulation pathway and mitochondria-dependent pathway[3].
In Vivo:Tebufenozide (7.5-240 mg/L, 1 mL, po for 4 days) exhibits toxicity Anticarsia gemmatalis larvae with a LC50 of 3.86 mg/mL, interferes with the normal growth and development of larvae and causes larval death[1].
