RH-5849 is an orally active agonist for non-steroidal ecdysteroid, which inhibits the larval growth of Plodia inferpuncteila in a dose-dependent manner. RH-5849 exhibits molting hormone activity[1].
In Vitro:RH-5849 (0-100 μM, 3 days) inhibits proliferation of IAL-PID2 cells in a dose-dependent manner[1].
In Vivo:RH-5849 (0-50 ppm, po for 17 days) induces molts and cuticle formation by wing discs, inhibits larval growth and results in death in a dose-dependent manner in Plodia inferpuncteila model[1].
