Methyl stearate, isolated from Rheum palmatum L. is a compopent of of soybean and rapeseed biodiesels[1]. In Vitro: Methyl stearate (0.5-16 mmol/kg, 5 days) inhibits the egg hatching of root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita), and has a repellent effect on second-stage larvae (J2s), thereby reducing the nematode infection of plants[2].
