In Vitro:1-Hexanol (0-16 µmol/mg mitochondrial protein) dose-dependently modulates mitochondrial respiration, affects the membrane potential, and exhibits uncoupling effect by affecting the pump function of the mitochondrial respiratory chain[2].
1-Hexanol (0-20 mM) activates S1 Mg-ATPase, increases the affinity of S1 for actin with the presence of ATP[3].
