Maltotriose is a maltooligosaccharide and a specific inducer of the Escherichia coli maltose operon. The oligosaccharide structure of Maltotriose acts as a highly efficient drug delivery carrier, which significantly enhances the targeting ability and water solubility of photosensitizers in photodynamic therapy for pancreatic cancer[1][2]. In Vitro:Maltotriose (10 μM-2 mM; 1 h) specifically induces β-galactosidase synthesis from the malP'-'lacZ gene fusion in a cell-free Escherichia coli transcription-translation system, with maximum induction occurring at concentrations of 0.1 mM and above[1].
