Mauritianin is an orally active kaempferol glycoside. Mauritianin can be isolated from the flowers and leaves of Acalypha indica. Mauritianin is a topoisomerase I inhibitor. Mauritianin has hepatoprotective, neuroprotective, and renoprotective activities. Mauritianin increases vascular tone when used in combination with Alcesefoliside (HY-N5049)[1][2][3][4].

In Vitro:Mauritianin (1-100 μM) stabilizes the DNA-topoisomerase I covalent binary complex[2].
Mauritianin (10 μM) alone has no significant effect on the vascular tone of rat basilaris artery segments, but increases vascular tone when combined with Alcesefoliside (HY-N5049)[3].
In Vivo:Mauritianin (10 mg/kg; p.o.; 21 days) shows no toxicity when administered alone, and exhibits hepatoprotective, neuroprotective and nephroprotective effects in CCl4 (HY-Y0298)-induced toxicity model in rats, with effects comparable to Silymarin (HY-N7073)[4].
