7-Coumaryl triflate is a potent inhibitor of 17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (17β-HSD1), with an IC₅₀ of 360 nM and a Kᵢ of 173 nM. 7-Coumaryl triflate exhibits selectivity for 17β-HSD2 and shows no detectable affinity for ERα or ERβ. 7-Coumaryl triflate can be used in research related to hormone-dependent breast cancer[1].
In Vitro:7-Coumaryl triflate (0.6-6 μM; 10 min) potently inhibits recombinant human 17β-HSD1 overexpressed in E. coli with an IC50 of 360 nM, showing 60% and 100% inhibition at 0.6 μM and 6 μM, respectively[1].
7-Coumaryl triflate (60 μM) does not inhibit recombinant human 17β-HSD2 overexpressed in E. coli at 60 μM, confirming high selectivity for 17β-HSD1 over 17β-HSD2[1].
