ω-Pentadecalactone, a macrocyclic lactone, is a fragrance ingredient. ω-Pentadecalactone is a member of the fragrance structural group macrocyclic lactone and lactide derivative[1]. In Vitro:ω-Pentadecalactone is a fragrance ingredient used in many compounds. ω-Pentadecalactone may be found in fragrances used in decorative cosmetics, fine fragrances, shampoos, toilet soaps, other toiletries, and non-cosmetic products such as household cleaners and detergents[1]. In Vivo:Swiss-Webster mice are administered doses of neat ω-Pentadecalactone in corn oil at a volume of 0.05 mL/g resulting in LD50 values of 2.82 g/kg for males and 2.95 g/kg for females[1].
