Calceolarioside B is a phenylethanoid glycoside. Calceolarioside B can be isolated from the leaves of Akebia quinata. Calceolarioside B inhibits RLAR activity with an IC50 value of 23.99 μM. Calceolarioside B inhibits the entry of Omicron BA.2 into host cells. Calceolarioside B reduces IL-6 levels. Calceolarioside B has immunomodulatory activity. Calceolarioside B has anticancer activity against human hormone-independent prostate cancer[1][2][3][4].

In Vitro:Calceolarioside B inhibits rat lens aldose reductase (RLAR) with an IC50 of 23.99 μM[1].
Calceolarioside B (30 μM) exhibits about 10%-15% inhibition on the proliferation of human hormone-refractory prostate cancer PC-3 cell lines[3].
Calceolarioside B (25-200 μM; 1 h pre-incubation, 12 h co-incubation) inhibits the entry of the Omicron BA.2 pseudovirus into host cells (ACE2-positive cells)[4].
Calceolarioside B (200 μM) reduces IL-6 levels in LPS- and pseudovirus-induced RLE-6TN cells[4].
