(-)-α-Terpineol ((S)-α-Terpineol), a monoterpene compound, is one of compounds in Melaleuca alternifolia. (-)-α-Terpineol has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities[1][2]. In Vivo:(-)-α-Terpineol (25-100 mg/kg, supplement in diet, lasts six week) decreased the TNF-α level and the levels of serum thiobarbituric acid reactive substances in obese rats[2].
