5-Bromoindole is an antibacterial agent with a MIC of 200 μg/mL. 5-Bromoindole inhibits biofilm and curli formation, reduces swarming motility and swimming motility. 5-Bromoindole can be used for the research of enterohemorrhagic escherichia coli o157:h7 infection[1].
In Vitro:5-bromoindole (50-200 μg/mL; 24 h) inhibits planktonic growth of Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli O157:H7[1].
5-bromoindole (2-100 μg/mL; 24 h) dose-dependently inhibits biofilm formation by Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli O157:H7, and complete inhibition at 50 and 100 μg/mL[1].
5-bromoindole (400 μg/mL; 2 h) exhibits bactericidal activity against Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli O157:H7[1].
5-bromoindole (5-50 μg/mL; 24 h) reduces the number of Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli O157:H7 cells in biofilms and eliminates curli fibers, without altering bacterial cell morphology[1].
