8-Aminooctanoic acid is an omega-amino fatty acid that is octanoic acid which carries an amino group at position 8. 8-aminooctanoic acid has a role as a human metabolite[1]. In Vitro:8-Aminooctanoic acid can be used as structural modification tools for synthesis of NPY cyclic analogs with specific conformation. 8-Aminooctanoic acid replaces certain amino acid residues in NPY, restricts the conformation of the peptide through disulfide bonds, thereby minicing the folded helical structure of NPY[2].
