α-Cyclodextrin (α-CD) is a soluble fiber derived from corn. α-Cyclodextrin can deplete sphingolipids and phospholipids from cell membranes. α-Cyclodextrin interacts with tubulin. α-Cyclodextrin improves defenses against SARS-CoV-2 infection. α-Cyclodextrin enhances the anticancer efficacy of Crcumin (HY-N0005) against breast, lung and cervical cancer. α-Cyclodextrin has beneficial effects on body weight and blood lipids[1][2][3][4][5].
In Vitro:α-Cyclodextrin exerts a protective effect against SARS-CoV-2 infection in Vero E6 cells at non-cytotoxic concentrations[2].
α-Cyclodextrin (6.25-50 μM, 24 h) enhances the antitumor effect of Crcumin (HY-N0005) on MCF-7, A549 and HeLa cells[3].
In Vivo:α-Cyclodextrin (diets containing 1-20% α-Cyclodextrin, p.o., 13 weeks) does not produce any signs of toxicity or adverse effects in rats[4].
α-Cyclodextrin (diets containing 0-20% α-Cyclodextrin, p.o., 13 weeks) is well tolerated in the Beagle dogs, but diarrhea occurred[5].
