In Vitro: p-Dimethylaminobenzaldehyde can be used as a chromogenic reagent for detection of urea and urea acid[1].
p-Dimethylaminobenzaldehyde can be fixed on the surface of silica gel for selective solid phase extraction and pre-concentration of heavy metal ions (such as Cr(III), Cu(II), Ni(II), Pb(II), and Zn(II)), and can be detected by ICP-OES[2].
