p-Anisic acid (4-Methoxybenzoic acid) is an orally available tyrosinase inhibitor that has antioxidant, anti-anxiety, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, anti-diabetic, and preservative properties. p-Anisic acid can be used as a preservative in the cosmetics field[1][2][3][4].
In Vivo: p-Anisic acid (10-30 mg/kg, orally, single dose) shows independent anti-anxiety effects in mice during the elevated plus maze test[3].
p-Anisic acid (25-100 mg/kg, orally, daily, four weeks) has a significant blood sugar-lowering effect on STZ-HFD induced T2DM[4].
